Munich: Frankie's Bike Tours

FlorenceForFun lovin Munich

The highlight of any weekend in Munich, whether it be for Oktoberfest, Springfest, Strong Beerfest or just because Munich is awesome, is  a bike tour with Frankie!

Frankie of Frankie's Bike Tours
Always wearing a beanie, a satchel and a bike, Frankie will have you in stitches telling jokes and stories of his adevntures traveling around the world. The best tour guide that I have biked with in Munich.

Frankie, of Hawaiian origins, has been living in Munich now for over 10 years. He has been a tour guide in Munich almost since the day he arrived and decided he wanted to do Munich his way, opening up his shop in April 2010.
Why does FlorenceForFun choose Frankie’s?
We have been going to Munich with students since Oktoberfest 2008. Of all of the tours that I have been on in Munich, Frankie was the best tour guide because of his enthusiasm and passion for his adopted city. The most important thing is to learn the history of Munich and to see the famous sights, but we also want to have a good time doing it and that’s where Frankie’s comes in.
All of the tour guides who work for Frankie’s make the history of Munich come alive in a fun, inventive way. Rather than just spouting boring facts, the guides make sure that everyone is enjoying themselves during the bike ride.
Having started FlorenceForFun in 2002, I understand how hard it is to get a new business off the ground. Frankie has really put his heart and soul into his company and you can see that his philosophy and values are something different from the others. When he told me that he was starting his own company, I was excited to tour with him and to support his new venture.
What will you see?
The center of Munich is rich with centuries of history. The obvious history is from World War II however Munich was originally founded by the Benedictine Monks and formally became the city of Munich in 1158.
But not to worry–your Frankie’s tour guide will give you the full run down from 1158 until now. Starting from the oldest church in Munich, St Peterskirche, the tour will include stops at:
Marienplatz – Rathaus Glockenspiel
Hofbrauhaus – Famous Royal Brewery
Max Joseph Platz – Royal Residence and The Residenz Theater
Odeonplatz – Beer Hall Putsch
Hofgarten – Royal Gardens
These are just a few of the things you will see along the way to our lunch stop in the phenomenal Englischer Garten at Munich’s second biggest Beer Garden, which on a busy day can hold up to 6500 beer drinkers!
Frankie’s Bike Tour is included when you book your Oktoberfest Trip with FlorenceForFun. Article by Anna McNiel
