Tiropitas

Tiropitas, pastries stuffed with a mixture of Greek cheeses, are a popular snack or appetizer. There are many cheese variations that can be made, but whatever is inside is simply delicious.

Moussaka

Moussaka is a savory casserole and perhaps one of the most famous Greek dishes. It is traditionally made by layering eggplant and spiced meat then topped with a creamy béchamel sauce (white sauce with butter, flour, milk). If you are not an eggplant fan there are other versions made with potatoes, zucchini, or whatever other vegetable you prefer. Perfect for dinner because it is hearty and filling!

Baklava

Baklava is the most traditional of all Greek desserts. The crust is made from phyllo dough and resembles a flaky pastry. The pastry is layered with cinnamon-spiced nut filling and finally bathed in sweet syrup. Baklava is usually prepared in a large pan so there is plenty to go around!

* Also, Greeks are known for their olives and feta cheese so any dish that contains one or both of those as ingredients is probably worth a try!
